you can pay the money to the airline company in your country they will give you the international number of the booking and you friend will give tne number to the airline company in ghana they will give him the ticket

and you ahve the right to cancel it and take the money again if he didn't use it

Most airlines offer E-Tickets which will send you a receipt with a confirmation number to your email box. Just give that confirmation number to your friend in Ghana, and he should be able to walk to the airline check in desk, and with the confirmation number and his passport, pick up his ticket at the desk with no problems.
